Title: New plaquenil dosage
Post by: Liz D. on August 14, 2019, 05:59:56 AM
I just received a notice from my rheumatologist to decrease my plaquenil from two tablets a day to one tablet a day.  She said this was based on new weight guidelines.  I've been on plaquenil for over 14 years and have had no issues.  I sure hope this reduction does not start any issues.

Has anyone else received this instruction?

Liz, interesting you should post this. Last time I was at the rheumy, he mentioned the weight based chart for plaquenil. Who knew??? I guess because of the toxicity it's best not to overmedicate I qualified for the 400 mgs. Woo, hoo!!!

Last year my Dr decreased my plaquenil from 400mg to 200mg daily. I have not noticed a difference
in my health after over a year.

Take care

Thanks for responses!  Glad to know, eye2dry, that your health is the same. That makes me feel better.
