Hello folks
Sorry if this is brief but screen time has to be reduced.
I am a sjogrens patient whos regime has involved , salagen, autologous serum and optimmune ciclosporin eye ointment which I have happily used for 9 years with no adverse affects.
Go to obtain my optimmune from hospital pharmacy who dither for a month before telling me on Wednesday, "we cannot get it at the moment". Spend all day phoning and emailing them and Moorfield who say they do still use it. Later that day I leave a message for the local hos pha to ring me with an expalantion and a pharmacist rings me back saying they have discontinued it and Ikervis, with the additiin of cetalconium chloride is the new licensed drug. Formulary for Moorfield online is still showing this, the advice leaflet for prescrivers says that yes some people will not tolerate the excipients (additions) and they can use alternative ciclopsporin ointment.
I am now noticing a differnce having been withouth this for a few days as it is clearly doing a lot more than even I previously thought.
Anybody in the UK out there in my position?
Very grateful for replies as such.
Regards
Honeybee x
