Title: Update
Post by: Deseree on January 18, 2019, 09:19:07 PM
I haven't been on here in a few weeks as I was coming to grips with all of the things that come with a Sjogren's diagnosis. I had a bit of a health scare recently because I was having many strange new symptoms I'd never before experienced, and I wasn't sure if it was Sjogren's or something else. But after a lot of tests, my doctor's have reassured me that I have nothing to worry about except for managing my Sjogren's symptoms. I'm still not sure if stress and anxiety caused my other strange symptoms (muscle twitching, shaking when trying to do things with my hands, recurrent hiccups, and buzzing sensations in my body), or if it is Sjogren's, but I had and EMG today that came up clean, which so I'm told, mostly rules out the scary stuff.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that I am so thankful for everyone who has helped me through this journey so far. I am now taking generic Evoxac, and it is wonderful! It has even helped my dry eyes. My rheumatologist says I have a fairly mild case, but she wants to monitor me every year to make sure lymphoma doesn't develop. I have regular follow ups with her for a while until everything gets sorted out. I feel like I am starting to have some hope again, and I'm so glad I was able to find this forum, you guys are great!

Glad to hear that you are feeling better. It souls like you have a good doctor who is treating your issues and will be keeping up with you as time goes by. Keep coming back to visit cause we all enjoy the ability to share knowledge. Take care. Irish

Thanks for the Update, Deseree.

Evoxac and Pilocarpine (Salagen) have helped with both my dry mouth and dry eyes, in the 17 years since my dryness appeared suddenly.

We are so lucky to have these medications that help.

Keep us posted, Deseree.
