I've had problems with what I suspect is vagus nerve inflammation in the past -- heart palpitations, bowel upsets, feeling faint -- but it's back now worse than ever. I'm going to start doing what I did before (mild diet, yoga) but wondered if anyone here deals with this too. It's such a scary feeling.
I've read older posts here and it seems that others have experienced problems with it too. What do you do? Any advice? Does anyone take it as far as going to an acupuncturist? I went to a chiropractor once for it but she did more harm than good.
Sigh...I'm so tired of being sick...
This is information about the vagus nerve and its function.

I also get the faintness and palpitations which can be attributed to many things such as Dysautonomia or MCAD.
In short, the system can go haywire with autoimmune disorders.
Acupuncture has only ever worsened my condition.
Have you seen a cardiologist. This might be a neuropathy that needs further investigation and treatment. The colon issues from vagus are miserable but the heart issues should be investigated I would think. Good luck Irish
Irish, I had a complete cardio check about a year ago when I had something similar (including a 15-day halter monitor test). The tests were okay so I'm guessing it's not the problem. But who knows...
