hey y'all
so if you guys could offer me some feedback on my issue, i'd really appreciate it..here's what happened: in august i had an mri of my knee which showed some bursitis...my drs told me this must've been y my knee had been nagging on me..so i was sent to do physical therapy & blah blah blah...i ended up getting injured by the therapist who handled me SO SO roughly with his gigantic hands! he didnt speak any english so couldnt understand when i told him he was expletive hurting my knee!! after he was done, my knee felt SO wierd like loss of sensation or something...the next day it swelled & ever since i'm in a never-ending mess!!
it's been 3 months now & my knee doesn't feel better..the swelling went down a little but i'm nowhere to being like my pre-injured self...thing is it still swells with any excess activity!! i dont know if he made my bursitis get worse or something else! i'm SO worried & angry as heck!! should i sue them for this?? i dont want another mri its too much radiation for my age...should i take an injection?
what do u guys think my injury could be??
thanks
Have you been back to your doctor? Told him what happened and had your knee checked out again. I do not know where you are that your PT could not speak English. That would be a problem most places. You need to be able to talk to the people that work with you.
I agree with Joe, go back to your doctor and get some advice.
If your only concern about a repeat MRI is radiation exposure, please note that MRI uses magnetic resonance, not radiation, so that shouldn't be an issue.
Did you mention anything to the therapist's employer or the doctor immediately after the injury? Three months later, any deterioration may be seen only as progression, but if you have any documentation of immediate worsening (photographs, journal notes, etc), it would be valuable.
I do hope you let them know right away, because it will be hard to get them to believe you now.
An MRI is not dangerous at all .. just be sure to leave out the contrast.
I'm with you .. I would be VERY angry!!
I had bursitis of the hip two months ago and I'm still in PT. It's getting better each day now.

hi thanks...no i never mentioned anything cuz i'm not sure if i should get a lawyer...if i let them know b4-hand they'll be on their radar..
When we have an inury like that it is wise to let people know as soon as possible. It is really hard to prove injuries that are not reported ASAP. As was said, injury could well be identified as a normal progression of a prior diagnosis. Also, it is really time consuming and expensive for a lawyer as the burden of proof has to be really huge. You will have to investigate this and see what your options are. Irish
