Hi. Not been here for a while. I guess I've been a bit out of sorts and needing to try and sort out the neurological stuff - which the neurologist has called functional neurological disorder or overlay - but I call Sjögren's fatigue. Why the neurologists I've seen have to always belittle the impact of dryness in every crevice of our being I just don't know. Sometimes I feel it would be useful to implant dehumidifiers in their souls and see how they feel after a day or two.
So my main struggle just now is with a sticky dry cough with salty goo and feeling of nausea - like car sickness 24/7. Oh and burning lips and gums with tooth pain - sometimes flash pain in my left molar - which has a very old double root canal - but mostly just the continuous pain in my lips and teeth and ache in my left ear. I've been assured by my oral medicine doctor that it's structurally normal so my mouth pain isn't dental abscess as originally assumed. Is it Trigeminal Neuralgia or are they going to try and tell me it's functional as well? They have allowed small fibre neuropathy at least.
Meanwhile I have had clarification by normal tilt table test result that I don't have PoTS and normal barium swallow that I don't have gastropsresis. So why do I feel so ill?
I'm on maximal treatments for GERD so guessing I can exclude this - although I do have episodes of intense burning still throughout my digestive tract with extra sharp pain in my breast bone. I'm not sure therefore whether the annoying cough is causing my mouth and my digestive tract to all kick off or other way around. I'm trying stemotil now just in case the problem is vestibular but I doubt it somehow. So far I've had one pill and it's not eased the nausea at all.
Any ideas on what could be causing this 24/7 nausea and flare mouth/ lips/ gums? My mouth was only dry 4/10 apparently so it's not that or oral thrush.
Overnight the pain in my peripheries is also hellish but unlike mouth it eases during the day. Thankful for small mercies at least.
