I've tracked my sleep through an app and smartwatch over the last year plus. Interestingly, other people I know using the same tracking app get much better quality and "deep sleep" than I do (though the app only tracks movement so this is not a perfect way to track quality and deep sleep).
I've tried various adjustments to see if I can make my sleep better, but so far I have not been able to find a correlation with any of my adjustments to better sleep. Some nights I sleep ok, some nights I sleep badly.
If you have any tips you've learned about what is working for you to get better quality sleep consistently, I'd love to hear them.
Not tracking with an app, but I look at the clock every time I wake up and it's been a pretty consistent every two hour pattern. Usually in a hot sweat and parched. Go the the bathroom, gulp some water, insert eye drops and repeat every two hours. It's miserable to say the least, I haven't slept more than two hours in over a year. If you find a solution I will be very interested.
I record my sleep time every day when I wake up.
I sleep about 9-10 hours every night.
I wake up once after about 3-4 hours to go to the bathroom, and again around 6 am, also bathroom.
I have a very irritated and inflamed bladder called Interstitial Cystitis.
In between I sleep well. At least I don't wake up sleepy.
I do have to use eye drops immediately when I wake up each time, my eyes are painful and almost impossible to bear to open, without putting drops in immediately.
I also keep a bottle of water next to my bed.
I don't measure quality of sleep through any tracking device, but I dream quite a bit, if that means anything.
Regards, Elaine
Thanks for the feedback so far. I also wake up often, so I know this makes it harder to get good sleep. Some things I try:
* leave saline spray near the bed for when my sinuses get dry in middle of night.
* breathe right nasal strip
* blue light blocking glasses for screen time at night
* no caffeine after morning
* lots of liquid during day but not much at all after 6pm or so (so I don't have to get up as often)
* exercise
I've probably started and stopped 20 other things that didn't seem to help. It is just really weird, I can get decent sleep one night, do all the same things the next day and get bad sleep that night. I wonder if it might be weather related sometimes, or possibly joint pain.
I sleep very badly. I have sleep apneas and I have to sleep on my side but if during the sleep I turn, I immediately wake up. this happens every two hours two hours and a half and then I have to wash my nose, drink some hot thing and then hope to fall asleep again. never sleep more than six, when I'm lucky seven hours in total.
