Title: Experiences with soy isoflavones?
Post by: Maria3667 on October 08, 2018, 11:50:13 PM
Does anyone have experience with taking soy isoflavones as a supplements?
Studies report they might act as a weak type of estrogen. Now that I'm in menopause, I wonder if they could help improve mouth and eye moisture?

A Pubmed study concludes it can be beneficial for saliva production by taking 25 mg/day.

Update after 4 days of being on 23 mg/day, taken before bedtime.

Positive effects: wake up with slightly more saliva & substantially more eye moisture. Also: sounder & longer sleep and less anxiety. My lower lip - where I usually have a dent due to Sjogren's damage - seems fuller & plumber.

Downside: maybe an odd pimple or 2? (Could be a coincidence).

Keep you posted.
