My current symptoms are - Dry skin, gluten intolerance (i am not taking wheat), dry eyes, dry nose, atypical face pain, numb hands at night.
Is sjogren known to cause burning in rectum, if yes please tell what is that condition called and what is the treatment that has worked for you.

Hi Happy,
Well I can't exactly say burning, but I sometimes have a condition as if the sphincter muscle continues to contract after finishing. To stop the pain I lie in bed and pull up my knees and gently rock from side to side until it subsides. I contribute the cause to dryness in the nerve tissue thus not receiving the right message from the receptor to stop. Don't know if I'm right or wrong, but it's a darn pain in the behind...
This sounds like rectal spasms. My hubby had celiac disease as does one son and they both have had rectal spasms during the course of their diseases. There are other autoimmune colon diseases that have rectal spasms as a symptom. I don't know if they can happen without a disease process. This is something you should ask your doctor about. It could also be a neuropathy that is taking place. Just my thoughts. Irish
