Dearest Sjogren's Angels,
My Lips have been peeling since, well I can't remember how long.
I assume this is part of my entire dryness/weirdness syndrome.
The skin that comes off doesn't leave raw places, it is like 'molting' or something.
Any thoughts, ideas?
Regards, Elaine
OMG I Googled it and it seems to be the result of a psychiatric disorder!

No way. Yes, I'm bat s..t crazy, but ...... oh well.
I do also have actinic purpura (purple spots on my skin where blood pools under sun damaged skin)
Hope to hear more from you.
EEEK.
Elaine
Elaine, I use Nivea smoothness lip care. It comes in a blue tube. I feel like it helps quite a bit.
It truly is always something!
Anna
I agree with the Nivea lip care advice. It seems to be the best for the constant peeling, although I have used Burt's Bees also. Between the peeling lips and the periodic cracking at the corners of my mouth, I am constantly reminded of dry mouth!
Tried them all, Lansinoh lanolin nipple cream hands down. No comparison. 1 tube will last a very long time. ????????
Some autoimmune diseases will causes the shedding of layers of skin. It has to do with how fast a single layer produces a new layer and "turns over" as they say. I don't think it I a psychiatric disorder but after all these years will all these ailments we tend to feel "crazy as a bat".
Problem is when the skin sheds at a fast rate like this it causes us to lick our lips and that can get miserable. Good luck. Irish
Dear Irish, I think you're right. This is something related to my immune disorder. The skin underneath is perfectly fine. So I guess I'm not totally worried about it.
It just seems to be happening in an accelerated fashion.
It's always something.
This is is the least of my problems, for sure.
Hugs, Elaine
