Hi. I find that I am especially clumsy. Banging my arms and hands into things all the time. I have
erosive inflammatory arthritis and osteo. They hurt like heck already and that does not help matters. I am not tripping or falling down, just walking into doorways and hitting my hands on everything.
Has anyone noticed they do this also?
Thanks, Bobbie
I have gotten much ore clumsy since my spinal fusion. They told me post op that because of the spinal cord compression that I had there would be more balance issues.
I am guessing that you have some balance issues related to your autoimmune diseases that cause you to lurch slightly thus bumping in doorways and everywhere else. When I lived in the country before my hubby died the bathroom door was in a narrow hall and no matter what I did to prevent it I would bang into the wall. I am on prednisone and I was so bruised that we wondered it people would think my hubby was beating me.
But, he was on warfarin and his arms looked worse that mine. WE just would have a good laugh over it when people made remarks. Good luck. Irish
Thank you Irish :)
Yes, but my problem is as much due to rushing as anything.
As well, I had significant issues with dropping things before I started on Gabapentin. I would think I had a handle on something then would drop it, which I believe was due to neuropathy.
My left foot is dragging some these days, I suspect maybe also neuropathy or something related to the heat.
Thank you SjoGirl :) I also drop things. I think I have a good hold of the item and I drop it. I do have neuropathy but mostly have noticed only in my legs. I, too, am always rushing around. It's just ridiculous how much I hurt myself.
Thanks again, Bobbie
If you are knocking things over, as I do, the probable cause is neuropathy, causing loss of position sense.
Thank you Vrystaat. I do have neuropathy. That makes sense. Bobbie
SjoGirl,
If your left foot is dragging these days, please make sure your doctor knows about it. While it's. probably is related to your neuropathy, it can also be a sign of a pinched nerve or interrupted nerve signals. This happened to me when I herniated the disk at L4/L5. I'm definitely not saying that's what's happening to you, I'm just suggesting that, if this is a new symptom, you might want to make your doctor aware.
I hope cooler weather comes soon and takes care of the foot dragging for you,
Tracy
