I have ATN
In my case, I had an inexperienced dentist create repeated trauma in the same immediate area.
One day, I got horrible pain that would not abate. It was not electrical. More a boring , deep pressure ...hard to describe. Very painful. Usually a 9 or 10. Often nauseous. I pulled a perfectly good tooth out of desperation. Did not help. I saw an oral surgeon who was also an MD. He told me to see a neurologist as I had nerve damage. Bottom line...mine was caused over a relatively short period of time due to repeated trauma by a dentist.
Five years ago. I still use a very expensive compounded cream to treat it. I pick it up tomorrow. $200.
Been using it for five years. I believe I should of sued. I waited too long. I always thought it would go away. It?s gotten better...but still haunts me BADLY.
PS a few lessons...always go to a very experienced dentist. If you suspect something is ?off? speak up. Consider a second opinion. If you think you?ve been the victim of medical malpractice, get a consult with an attorney immediately.
