My recent hand x-rays showed deformities associated with erosive arthritis. Does anyone know if this type of arthritis is related to having Sjogren?s or is it the same as osteoarthritis?

I would almost bet it is the same. When the general population begins to understand a diagnosis, the doctors seem to change it. I was told by a young doctor that the name changes were to better identify the underlying disease. My old neuro said it was to keep the public confused and make more study material.
Well, if the doctor says that it is osteoarthritis it is not Sjogrens. That much I have had explained to me. I have osteoarthritis and have a couple of joints that look like sausages and get so painful. Actually, when it hurts bad I spite of being on plaquenil the name of the disease is not of importance. The pain is what has your attention. Irish
