Recently at the clinic I go to for most things other then when I see my Rhuematologist.
They took blood for mostly a bunch of cholesterol tests.
I got the results back, and I have high uric acid, and they diagnosed me with Gout. My dad had it, my brother, and one sister also have it. Medication called in for that.
Almost all tests and there were many for cholesterol readings were high. I have been on the Dash Diet for about 1 1/2 months, but I guess not long enough to show much improvement except it did give me back great blood pressure readings.
A Statin drug (Previstatin) called in for that at 10 whatever. A low dose, but my kidney function showed low so that may be why.
Also to take Niacin 1000, and CoQ10 once per day.
I am to continue with the Dash Diet, and exercise.
I return in so many weeks to see how things go.
I am a little concerned about being put on a statin drug, but I guess better than having a heart attack.
Also concerned about my low kidney function, but with Lupus along with Sjogren's that is not uncommon though not welcome.
Reports will be sent to my Rhuematologist.

Oh Sunep I am sorry. It does seem to pour on us at times does it not? I applaud your attempt to look on the bright side. I hate taking meds, but remind myself that if I had been born 20 or 30 years earlier I might be dead by now because those meds might not have existed or used for my conditions.
Hugs to you.
High active tart cherry extract is what i suggest you check out. A remedy for gout from the 1500s.
Thanks Joe, you are always so helpful.
SjoGirl that is a very kind post. It does come in bunches sometimes.
Tomorrow or in a couple of hours I turn 65, so my birthday wish is to be around a few more years with my dear husband, son, daughter in law, and fur babies.
