So, are skin infections a thing with Sjogrens at all?? In the past few years, I've had rashes, fungal and a few boils. I've never had these before. I wonder why I am getting these. I never used to get them. Or, is it because of a lower immune response and very dry skin??
I had to go to see a dermatologist for the first time in my life last year- had a red patch on one leg (which he told me was a solar keratosis caused by too much sun, though I very rarely sunbathe so didn't believe that), also eczema. He said my skin was crying out for moisture - I certainly never had that problem before all these Sjogrens type symptoms started, so I'm very much inclined to believe they're all part of the same syndrome. Then in the last couple of weeks I have developed folliculitis on my legs - another first, and when I looked that up on Google I found that it can be related to compromised immunity.
Sorry I forgot to mention that ever since all this started I've also been getting rashes and strange little rows of spots that look like a scratch, but definitely aren't.
