Title: have to take augmenton but can't take probiotics
Post by: trc1962 on February 26, 2018, 08:25:22 AM
I received approval for rituxan approval but it is going to have to wait as I have an awful sinus infection. Treatment is augmenton in high doses and I know what that does to intestinal flora. I can't take probiotics or eat yogurt as I have histamine issues, is there any way I can help my body recover from the antibiotic? Thanks.

You must find a probiotic that is low histamine, made for those of us who are sensitive.

I take Custom Probiotics D-Lactate Free. There's a safe one that Dr Ben Lynch promotes also. And one from Seeking Health. Google is your friend!

Get well soon!

I checked with "Mothers Cupboard" and they said there are no low histamine probiotics. I did a search as you suggested and it looks like there are some out there. I will definitely decide on one and give it a try as I don't want all the gut issues from the antibiotic. I am still pretty sick with the sinus infection but it got a good start and I am playing catch up. Thanks so much for the info.

Did you Google "seeking health" and "healing histamine?"

Best of luck and get well soon!

I don't understand that  probiotics are high in histamines??? How does that happen? I wonder if this is why the really strong ones give me diarrhea these days? I am talking about VSL #3.
