This is a new things and quiet depressing.
This roller coaster started 6 years ago. I have been able to manage most of the symptoms. Good and bad days for sure. My mouth all of the sudden became extremely dried. For 2 nights my lips in the middle of the night become stuck with one another. Not with my gums but with each other. Like they had glue. Is this normal for everyone? What do you do?
for my lips, I use aquaphor lip repair before going to bed. For the mouth, a dry mouth gel (Biotene, oral7, and GC are some brands) can help if things are really dry, and a typical dry mouthwash/rinse doesn't seem to help.
I've never had anything get stuck, though my mouth has been dry enough to prevent me from eating anything solid and from sleeping for days on end. The only thing that really worked at that point was a couple of IV doses of corticosteroids, and a prescription for an anti-cholinergic drug (pilocarpine or cevimeline).
As a kid mine would stick together. Now I have my water bottle to sip from.
I put Vaseline on my lips every night. Xylimelts are very helpful with dry mouth at night, chewing gum in the day.
Araminta,
Yes, I often find my lips stuck together in the middle of the night. I just keep reapplying lip balm. Don?t know what else will help.
