Title: D-Mannose
Post by: susanep on January 04, 2018, 08:15:58 AM
I know many of you take the D-Mannose, and I take it now too. It has kept me from getting the uti, but I have been going through a severe stomach flu. During that time I couldn't take any meds, so now I feel a uti, so wanted to know if it can take care of a uti already started?

Thanks,
susanep

I have read product reviews and forum posts elsewhere where people have said they used D-Mannose to treat UTIs, not just prevent them. You can do an internet search for "d mannose treat uti" and see the timing and dosages that others have said worked for them. I have only used it for prevention, not treatment.

Another product I have read about people using to successfully treat a UTI is uva ursi, so you may want to look into that, too.

I think the key to both is starting treatment as soon as possible and being very aggressive with product along with water consumption.

UTIs are very annoying and taking antibiotics can be undesirable, so I feel for you. Good luck!

D-Mannose is as powerful as Macrobid (Nitrofurantoin) or Cipro.  Take it now.

CONCLUSIONS:
In our study, D-mannose powder had significantly reduced the risk of recurrent UTI which was no different than in Nitrofurantoin group. More studies will be needed to validate the results of this study, but initial findings show that D-mannose may be useful for UTI prevention.

CONCLUSIONS:
The results of this study suggest that D-mannose can be an effective aid in acute cystitis management and also a successful prophylactic agent in a selected population; however, more studies will certainly be needed to confirm the results of our pilot study.

Helps with asthma and diabetes as well!

In sum, the studies by Dr. Chen and his colleagues have discovered that d-mannose is a "healthy/good" monosaccharide and suggest that this unique sugar could be a safe dietary supplement to promote immune tolerance and to treat/prevent human diseases associated with autoimmunity and allergy.

I have taken D-Mannos daily, and went from chronic UTIs (and Interstitial Cystitis which I of course still have), to NO UTIs for the past five years.  NOT ONE.
