I read salivary glands (part of?) from lower lip are grafted/placed into side of eyes.
The saliva becomes a substitute for tears.
I think it's for extreme dryness.
Not sure I'm keen to try the transplant.
Will mention it to my opthalmologist though.

I don't know about it working for SS though since our salivary glands are problematic as well.

Not just that we need the salivary glands where they are
but the fact that they too are prone to inflammation same as our tear glands.
Yes, Sharon I agree in protecting our pro inflammation glands.
Don't think I'll be trying the transplant.
