Title: great eye drops
Post by: eye2dry on November 30, 2017, 01:44:55 PM
hi to all.

Although I rarely use eye drops anymore I have to tell
you about a free sample I got to try out.

I use Ocusoft eyelid wipes every day and when I bought a new box recently
inside was a single use vial of a new eye drop for folks like us.
Made by Ocusoft and called "retaine".

Feels so lovely when it hits your eye.....seems like your eyelids glide over
your eye when you blink. Best of all no blurriness after use and no stinging.
No RX required.

You may be able to get a sample or coupon to try it.

Call 1-800-233-5469 or   retainebrand.com

This is not intended to seem like a commercial, just maybe it can help someone here.

Thank you for this recommendation Shelly!
I really need good drops.
There are a few different types of drops from Retaine on that site.
Which did you try?

Thanks for the great information, eye2dry, if the one you sampled is the CMC lubricant drop, the information on it sounds much like an old surgical drop I used when I first started having symptoms. Out of sheer desperation, I used a left over vial, unopened of course, of the drops we used for patients in ICU or OR for eye protection, and the Carboxymethylcellulose Sodium gave great relief.

Unfortunately I found it wasn't available commercially except through hospital supply with an access number and sold in lots of 5000, so I had to find something else. I've tried so many different brands over the years, and found a few favourites, but none I likes as well.

In retrospect, I probably would have used the 5000, and it was pennies a vial.

Hi Shelly,
Love these drops!  My ophthalmologist gave me the Retaine MGD to try a year ago instead of Restasis.  I can stretch one single use vial over 1 1/2 to 2 days, which my doctor said is fine.  The little plastic cap snaps back on.  I also use the tube of Retaine lubricant at night.  I put a little on a Q-tip, and swab over lower eyelid.   I haven't tried the wipes that you use.  That may be next :-)

Sharon: my sample was the Complete Dry Eye Relief (MGD)
per the site.....30 vials for $25.00....see below.....

MtnMama:  Yes you can practically get 2 days out of one vial.
yes, the cap snaps back on.

aside from above... my night time regiment consists of,

rubbing OTC eye lubricant over my lids, then one drop in each eye of Xiidra.
in the am. I cleanse both eyelids with the cleansing wipes.

boy, what a person goes through just to get dry eye relief for all night!!!!!!!

Ordered them from Amazon. Used tonight and they feel great. Many thanks. Interestingly, although it does t look like it, you can use the tube partially and put the cap back on.
Thank you for suggesting these drops!

Bente, I can't find them in Australia.

Thanks for info Nomad.

I'll order from Amazon.  Hope they help more than what I've tried over the years.
