This summer was very rough on me. I just couldn't cool off. Was always tired. Drank a lot of water, but if it was very hot out , it did not help.
Doctors tell me my blood work often indicates dehydration
Now it's cooler and it's hit me, my clothes (shirts) never seem dirty unless I spill
Something on them.
I think I'm sweating a lot less.
Then I saw this on-line:
1. Sj?gren?s Syndrome
People with this autoimmune disease may not sweat because the body destroys the sweat glands or they can become blocked with cells from the immune system. If you notice lack of sweating, dry eyes, and mouth ask your doctor for testing for Sj?gren?s.
Anyone barely sweat ?
Has the doctor discussed this with you?
Thank you.
I?m the opposite. My forehead is always wet with sweat.
Hi
Yes just par for the course. I take Evoxac though which can cause excessive sweating if taken in a dose inappropriate to your body. Everyone tolerates it differently. I take it for dry mouth primarily and take 2 pills a day. If I take 3 I sweat a lot. A similar drug is Salagen. Never taken that. Your skin is also probably dryer than most people?s .
For about a year after SS onset, my ability to sweat reached almost zero. Now it has recovered a bit.
Yes, I barely sweat. For several years I would suddenly sweat profusely, but only in my head. Just sitting still and suddenly Niagra Falls from my head. That seems to have passed with the progress of my disease.
I also have temperature dysregulation: I am always unusually hot, but my body temperature ranges from 96 to 97.5. At 98.6 I am running a fever.
I've given up trying to figure out most of it. It is just the way of my body and my Immune Disorder.
Regards, Elaine
I don't sweat much anymore. But sometimes out of the blue I will get exceeding hot and my head and neck will start to sweat.
When I was very young, I remember sweating a little bit, but for most of my life, my sweat evaporates too quickly to really notice. On the plus side, I never needed anti-perspirant, and my shoes almost never got wet enough to stink.
I never thought much of it, I always just assumed that summertime heat was as miserable for everyone else as it was for me. Then I got a job in a hot factory, and started to get suspicious at how everyone was dripping sweat everywhere, and yet my skin was barely damp.
