Hi :)
I went to see my GP today because I've been feeling lightheaded and spaced out and getting a lot of headaches. Been aware that my BP has been getting more elevated and also suffering a fair bit of tachycardia, which I have to admit I'm not really aware of.
Anyway - I asked if my thyroid could affect my BP - because I don't really want any more medication if I can sort the problem by taking less thyroxine.
I went armed with graphs of what my BP and pulse had been doing for the last 3 months.
He's told me to reduce my thyroxine to 100mcg a day and have a blood test in two weeks and then go back and see him - so I'm happy with that. Been on 100mcg before but I usually end up running hypo on it but will explain that to him next time.
Thanks for listening - Scottie :)
Hi Scottie,
How about anxiety besides high blood pressure? I can usually tell if I should taper off when I notice tachycardia, higher body temperature (sweating!), cramps in calves or toes, shorter sleep and the worst telltale sign of all: anxiety!
Hi Maria :)
Nope - no anxiety and even worse - no weight loss! I could so do with losing weight. High BP, Tachycardia, cramps in calves all present - but been sleeping more rather than less, not very hungry and permanently spaced out. Sweats - yes - but that's Omeprazole in my case.
Will get a blood test next week having dropped down to 100mcg daily. BP and pulse rate still on the high side.
Take care - Scottie :)
