Title: Eyelash Extensions
Post by: SjoDry on April 21, 2017, 10:52:20 AM
Greetings Sjoggie-Mates.

I did a search for this topic and found a few responses, but am wondering if anyone has recently worn eyelash extensions successfully?
I will be going to my son's wedding and one other this summer. An ad for eyelash extensions came across my desk this morning.

My future daughter-in-law tells me that the glue is the issue. I am intrigued with wearing extensions that do not require mascara..but really nervous about doing this..especially since I look like I've been on a drinking binge already when I wake up every morning.

Anyone? Thoughts?
Take Care.

Oooh, this could be a good idea! I've been bummed about having to stop using mascara. I initially stopped because of the amount of eye drops I was using, and then, after insertion of punctal plugs, because of the amount of tears (albethey somewhat poor quality) I have been producing. I kind of feel incomplete without mascara. I'd love to have lashes again and extensions could definitely be worth looking into. I'd check out tutorials on youtube to see what's involved and get practice lashes well before the wedding. Good luck if you try them out!

If they temporary- you need formaldehyde-free glue. Not easy to find, but you can order it online.

If they are semi-permanent- same issue with the glue but not recommended at all since it's impossible to clean eyelids thoroughly with them without them falling off.

Be sure to give it a trial before wearing them to any weddings!

Let us know how it goes!

I had mink eyelash extensions recently. They last for 2-3 weeks and ate very expensive. Over $100. I loved them, but they took two hours and so expensive. If it's just for one day, why don't you experiment with glue on false eyelashes?

Thanks everyone.

Jenny, that's a great idea to experiment. I think I will do that. The last time I attempted to apply them (many many years) ago...it looked like a caterpillar off-course. But you are right..it is
far cheaper to experiment than to have a potential disaster at wedding time.
