if anyone has info please pass onto me
thanks!

You may be thinking of the book by Annesse Brockley, Autoimmune: The Cause and Cure.  It's sold by Amazon.  She had some very interesting conclusions from research she had read.  Well worth the read.  Her cure involved a dietary and supplement regime which was not as interesting to me, but which other people have found to be useful.  Hope this helps.

hey Sooki, thanks for the name of that book, that looks quite interesting to me, I checked on amazon and think will check it out at library first to make sure I like it, but in theory sounds good, I liked Michael Pollan too (sp?)

I think tho this Nat meant they had written the book to which they referred

ah darn, just checked library--for some reason they don't have a copy.... I will put a bug in their ear :) I am not opposed to paying for a book but I have had such bad luck with so many supplements foods herbs meds etc that I want to make sure she doesn't have ideas I have mostly tried before I lay out the moola ;)

I hear you!  Libraries are pretty resourceful at finding books.

I was able to find the name of the book in an old post, when Nat said his book would be available on Amazon. It's called "Autoimmune The Cause and The Cure" but I haven't checked Amazon to see if it is still available.

In Sjogren's and Autoiminune patients enzyme abnormalieties have been noted.

The New Sjogren's Syndrome Handbook  p, 74  https://books.google.com/books?id=gs-IupKFYmIC&pg=PA74&lpg=PA74&dq=digestive+enzymes+and+sjogrens&source=bl&ots=u0Q8Y9zw5E&sig=f91rwbcKd1Mo8UkFCqzvY-ALFnU&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwi2yenRx5zTAhUGyyYKHdgaAVQQ6AEIcDAL#v=onepage&q=digestive%20enzymes%20and%20sjogrens&f=false

Pancreas Function Tests  http://www.webmd.com/digestive-disorders/pancreas-function-tests#1

My take is without proper enzyme range.. even with diet change there is malabsorption and so malnutrition in already sick/physically stressed patients.

So going organic or not would not matter.. if the body is not able to utilize foods consumed.

wow thanks so much Linda really appreciate the due diligence, I had quickly perused his old posts but missed it and saved them to look thru more carefully later

and quiet dynamics, that is exactly what I have suspected and am concerned about---I suspect I have a genetic situation that predisposed me to difficult in that area (I do have 23&me data and just had some of it analyzed in the last week) and I think what happened is that I had a bit of difficult time breaking certain things down and the summer before my life changed for the worse healthwise there was a confliuence of factors that I think was nail in the coffin---took combo of meds including erythomyocin daily, then zantac because my gut was hurting from antibiotic and I was on a bunch of B vitamins was on restricted diet and lifting weights--was really fit but wanted to push it to the next level, my own Olympics ala 1989--then I got a gall stone which you normally wouldn't when you are young and fit (later they learned erythomyocin and of course bc pill and restricted diet can cause gallstones) and the old fashioned surgery took my gb and appendix for heck of it and ever since then there has been chronic pain and fatigue (hurt my neck in there too and that is another parallel story)----I don't tolerate most digestive enzymes well, a little amylase now and then might be ok---so I feel sort of SOL---feel like that was probably worst way to deal with my genetic predisposition--!  the usual bloodwork panels don't show any obvious malnutrition and since I don't look anorexic they wouldn't think of giving me referral to specialist for it and I would be skeptical how much they would help. My D though does show up  really low and taking it makes me feel awful whether oral, cream, sun etc In a bit of a bind here how to best support self. But keep experimenting!

ah QuietDynamics I looked at yr link on the enzymes in the handbook--interesting--well I had those symptoms before the surgery but actually have more of the opposite problem now-things bit sluggish--but compared to some folks I have read about post-surgery I have been lucky not to have any dramatic obvious issues --pretty regular usually ;)  but have tried pancreatic enzymes and ox bile and apple cider etc all the usual suspects and unpleasant things happen mostly with pancreatic and protease type enzymes--can mostly tolerate an enzyme w/amylase lipase cellulose and some herbs that doesn't have protease in it but not taking it much these days. If that link fits my situation than the amylase may be a  moot point. They did another abdominal ultrasound on me in Dec because was having some pain in rt side (better now, happens sometimes) and they said it was normal. In the past they have told me it shows fatty liver (I don't drink). Maybe I will explore some of those blood tests you linked, thanks, if you understand the science behind this and have other ideas please share :)

You can search "nonalcoholic fatty liver".. fatty liver is condition with a stigma/sterotype, but, not a cast a net condition.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22157220

You can search .. Hopkins, Sjogren's, fatty liver, autoimmune for information.

I had searched about nutrition, malnutrition etc. as even though I ate healthy (although during flares I absoultuly have no appetite.. so yogurt, fluids, etc I even add red lentils into foods for extra protein.) Consume and chose a number of color vegetables, fresh beets, red leaf lettuce, colors, colors, colors,
But, I felt I simply had malnutrition.. so was not surprised with the low Vit B's when tested @ Sjogrens Clinic.

I am changing PCP and will ask for test.

I love beets, particularly pickled ones, but avoid ones that use corn syrup! I do think they help my digestion :)

good luck switching docs and self-advocating QD

Thanks for sharing, Quietdynamics. I think that I have pancreatic insufficiency. I am better when I take pancreatic enzymes. Maybe that is why I'm so skinny. Probably should take them more regularly.
