Title: Probiotic
Post by: Sharon on February 25, 2017, 02:38:23 PM
Hi all,
I have been prescribed 3 months of Doxycyline antibiotic for an eyelid + eye infection.
My GI system is in a bad condition as it is and acid has been an issue.
Any recommendations for a good probiotic that can prevent antibiotic side effects?
When I tried probiotics in the past they either didn't do a thing or actually caused me GI upset.
Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks!  :)

I have tried a few different kinds and the one that makes the most difference in my immune system is from Amway. It's expensive, though. I am sure there are other good ones but I don't know which. It sure has made a difference for me.

Bluegardenia- Yes, 3 months is the course for this type of eye infection. What is vls3?

Nyph- Thanks for your suggestion. They don't carry that brand around here. Maybe I can order it.

VSL #3 is a very potent probiotic. You can get prescription strength from your doctor or google it and order it from Amazon or another source. It has a very high count of probiotic bacteria, the highest you can buy as far as I have heard. I like the VSL #3 double strength that is prescription. It's pricey though!! Good luck to you!
