Title: Clinical Trial Participation Update
Post by: SjoGirl on February 23, 2017, 04:49:36 PM
Well, now it's all about the bloodwork. I've passed the initial screening and exam for the clinical trial for a new SjS drug. If the bloodwork is where it needs to be I'l be be able to participate.

Fingers crossed.

That's exciting! I hope you are able to get in. I am generally ineligible due to my seronegative status; otherwise, I would certainly be participating myself.

I'd be curious as to which clinical trial you are participating in, though I'm not sure what NDAs you may have had to sign. There are some very promising trials underway currently, particularly involving small molecule inhibitors. I know there are a number of biologics as well.

Best of luck. May you get the med, not the placebo, and may it work with no side effects!

I've been living this vicariously with you.

This will be interesting for you and you can keep us updated on this and eventually what the results are, if possible. Good luck. Irish

Hi all, Thanks, I'll let you know how it goes. FYI the clinician keeps indicating that I will get the drug, so I'm not sure whether it's a double blind study, I need to double check.

Some phase 2 trials are not placebo controlled, so you may be in a trial where you are guaranteed to get the drug. Those trials definitely seem the minority these days.

Good luck! I hope it works out well for you!
