Hi Sjoggie-Mates,
May I please ask for those of you who pray, to include my son Jon and his fellow Marines in your prayers. Jon is stationed in Lahore Pakistan. Last Easter there was a blast that killed around 70 innocent people. That blast was 7 miles from Jon. Two days ago, there was another blast, again killing innocent people. That was less than 2 miles from Jon. Jon works at the Consulate. It is so dangerous that the Marines are unable to even leave the compound without armed escorts. Jon needed an MRI for a torn meniscus and had 3 Marine guards & 7 local police to escort him to the hospital. Jon was home at Christmas & shared with us that he has developed anxiety. He explained that the Pakistanis take dead bodies & mutilate them in front of the closed circuit cameras. The group that claimed responsibility for the blast 2 days ago & the one last Easter threatened that this is just the beginning. Jon is supposed to leave in May & is engaged to be married in September. Please pray for all of our service people everywhere, but especially in very dangerous locations. Jon's group in Lahore is only the 2nd group to be there..so it is not a proven location.
Don't worry Linda I am not going to dive into politics..but I would like to say that thinking about what I just wrote certainly puts things into perspective...it does for me.
Thanks for your prayers my fellow Sjoggies.

(That goes for you, too:)
Prayers are being said for your son and all involved over there. Prayers are also being said for their stateside relatives who have trouble sleeping at night because of their worry. Irish

Sjodry, my prayers go out to you, your son and his fellow soldiers. This must be incredibly difficult for the families of all the military these days. Prayers for his safe return!
SjoDry, I can't even begin to imagine what your son is going through. My thoughts and prayers are with him, you, his fiancee, your family and all of the service members who fight for our country.
SjoDry,
How is your son doing? Is he still getting married?
