Title: Prednisone started working!
Post by: Sharon on January 14, 2017, 11:20:25 AM
This post is an update to the one in which I wrote about 20mg of Prednisone
not helping my condition. I thought this update may potentially benefit others that don't experience initial relief with Prdenisone.
So exactly 2 weeks after beginning 20mg it finally kicked in and today nearly 3 weeks in I continue to notice improvements:
Reduced pain, gastro symptoms, fatigue, allergic reactions and whiter eyes.  :)

The side effect of stomach pain is being controlled by taking Omeprazole before every pill (thanks to Jasper for suggesting I take something to protect my stomach!).
I still suffer from dry mouth as a side effect of the Prednisone (many meds give me this).

I plan on beginning to taper soon, as I do not want to be on Prednisone for an extended period of time due to it's well-known long-term effects.
I really hope I'm able to maintain the benefits I mentioned as I taper, as the pain was debilitating before I began the Prednisone.

Awesome news Sharon.  I took it a few years back and had similar experience.

Sending positive thoughts your way.

Thank you finallyadx, hoping I find a safer long-term treatment.
