My right hand is hurting so bad and goes numb on me. Rhuemy said it is arthritis, yippe!!
I was on internet looking to see what can help this and I came along arthritis gloves, so I went to Amazon and I bought myself a pair. I got them today and for the last 7 hours my hand is not numb and the pain is a little less. So I am hoping that the longer I wear this the better my hand will feel. The gloves come about 3/4 of the way down the fingers so your tips are not covered.
I am hoping to get relief so I can do some coloring and crocheting again. I am also hoping this might be of some use to any of you to get some relief. They cost $20 but will be so worth it.
I will update at the end of the week. If anyone has and suggestions on anything else I could use or do I would be thankful.

I started with the Tart Cherry many decades ago. It helped for may years.
Cricket- Thanks for sharing this, I have the same problem with the painful hands (though not numb) and it's really taking a toll on my day to day activities. I'll look into this!

I am surprised that osteoarthritis arthritis is causing your hand to be numb. Arthritis in the neck making your hand numb is usually a reason for surgery, if that is the case, since it means a pinched nerve, which can result in permanent loss of nerve function.
Carpal tunnel syndrome can cause numbness, however. And is often treated with splints and PT, tho' surgery is simple and will relieve it, too.
For my hand arthritis pain (fingers are distorted, tips are bent at angles, joints are knobby and painful) I find that
Cymbalta (on label for arthritis pain),
Aleve (miraculous for me but I had to stop after years of use, due to gastric distress even with Omeprazole)
a low dose of Medrol (methyprednisolone)
and Gabapentin (trade name Neurontin) all help tremendously.
My Left knee and my right shoulder are deteriorating. I may have my knee replaced down the line, but not the shoulder. My big toes are 'fused' with arthritis. I have had three surgeries on my left hand, one due to arthritis. One due to carpal tunnel, and one due to a trigger finger (finger 'jams' because the ligament has a bump and doesn't release when the finger is bent).
And I have constant pain from the Degenerative Disk Disease in my neck which is osteoarthritis. I also have osteoarthritis in my lumbar spine. Most people do when they are 65 or older. I recently had a fairly simple surgery on my lumbar spine, but I am avoiding surgery on my neck and fusions in my lumbar spine. At 74 I'm hope to 'go out' without more serious spine surgery.
Osteoarthritis is the disease that affects the most people in the world, and there is no way to cure or treat it at the present time. All we can do is alleviate the pain and replace the joints that are worn out, usually hips and knees.

Elaine- If you have osteoarthritis why does the Medrol help? I thought Medrol only helped if the condition was autoimmune related.
Hello Cricket, I have the same question as Carolina, would osteoarthritis cause numbness (maybe if a nerve is being pinched by a disc that is out of place, but not general arthritis).
FYI I have numbness in my hands, and an EMG revealed that I have carpal tunnel in the left one. I wear a brace at night (purchases at Wal Mart) and it makes a huge difference.
I also have degenerative disc disease in my neck, which can travel down my arm and cause numbness.
One way to help tell what the issue might be is to consider where the numbness is. If it's your thumb and first two fingers docs often suspect carpal tunnel. If the last two fingers, it might be from your neck. If all fingers, might be a combination of the two or something else.
Have you developed numbness elsewhere in your body? If so it might signal something more systemic.
I have had four hand surgeries. I wasted a lot of time in pain by not going to a hand specialist. There are so many joints and bones in the hand.
Dear Sharon, you're right.....Medrol doesn't help the pain of osteoarthritis directly.
However, a flare of inflammation makes my arthritis much worse (pressure on the joints from inflammation) and THEN the Medrol reduces the inflammation and therefore the pain from my osteoarthritis is less.
In fact, when I have inflammation, I have pain everywhere from so much osteoarthritis.
Comes under the category of: It's always something...and then it's something else.

I went to a hand Orthopedic Surgeon. On each hand I had both carpel tunnel surgery and CMC (also known as Basal) surgery. It is at the base of the thumb, almost at the wrist. I am predisposed to arthritis, tendonitis and bursitis. (My mom called them the Itis brothers.)😍 I was a Potter for about 15 years and it took a toll on my hands.
