I am hoping someone here may know of a specific Rheumy I should go see. I live close to Spokane, but the wait time for my first visit is 4-6 months. I am feeling rather hopeless right now. I have now developed an ulcer on my right eye after being treated since June for corneal ulcerations and Blepharitis.
I phoned a clinic in Portland and their wait time is much less, 6 weeks or so. We have relatives there and the drive isn't so bad...about 6 hours. Seattle is about the same distance. I'm hoping to be able to stay with Providence doctors as that's our insurance and I want my insurance to pay more than me.
I know of several excellent rheumatologists in Seattle, but none that are affiliated with a Providence hospital. I know Providence hospital in Portland is well thought of. Good luck to you in finding the right dr for you and getting a good diagnosis and treatment.
Hi Kadiddie,
My former rheumatologist moved her practice (and family :) ) to Seattle over a year ago. She is affiliated with Virginia Mason Hospital and Medical Center. Another "office" type address comes up in a search for her: Su Yin, M.D. She is so wonderful another patient and I thought seriously of flying from Dallas to Seattle to see her every few months. Not a practical solution. We were left with her partner..to manage both caseloads for about 6 months. We stuck with the partner..and are very happy now. They went to med school then specialization together here in Dallas @ UT Southwestern. The friend and I still love and miss Dr. Yin...but are coping. :)
I realize you are an overnight (or LONG trip) away from Seattle. I am just saying I loved her..Lyou asked for someone in a specific area. Length of time I cannot even begin to guess. You can use my name for reSjoferral.
