Title: Manuka honey
Post by: Sharon on August 24, 2016, 04:39:08 PM
Has anybody here had success using real Manuka honey (UMF 10+)
to treat GI issues and inflammation?
I used a cosmetic cream with Manuka honey as ingredient and it reduced some skin swelling I was having.

I've been reading up on it and it seems like it may have potential:

I used Manuka honey to treat my dog's infection/inflammation when I accidentally broke the poor guy's tail by slamming it in the door. Ouch!  I still cringe when I think about it.  It was recommended by the veterinarian to promote healing. I think I also treated him with an antibiotic at the same time but I can't say for sure.

It did seem to draw the infection out of the wound, is that makes sense.

But I have never used in on myself.

From what I've read a teaspoon a day keeps inflammation at bay and soothes the stomach.
If I find the right brand I'll give it a try.

I would love to try that! I love Honey, but it causes me a major IBS attack when I eat it regularly!

This honey is supposed to prevent IBS attacks Tharrell since it reduces inflammation and bacterial infections.
I'm going on a small trip today to get my hands on the correct "therapeutic" type of UMF 15 (the type from New Zealand).
I'll let you all know if it helps!
