Hello All,
I am happy to report that I finally have received a diagnosis for Sjogrens. I am thankful that it only took 2 and a half years and not as long as some others but at the same time it is kind of sucks to know that this is something that I will be dealing with for a long, long time. All and all though I am thankful today that all of the searching and endless ping pong action from doctor to doctor is done. Just want to say thank you to you all for your kind words and encouraging posts that you have posted. Thank you. :)
Having a diagnosis feels good. The Facebook groups are really good for support.
I felt a huge sense of relief to find out what was wrong with me. Now I wonder exactly how long I had this mess?? I hope you start feeling better soon.
I was so relieved to get my diagnosis but I felt absolutely sure that I had it. I knew whatever I had was bad news and it is much better with treatment! Not perfect but so much better.
I wish they would have diagnosed me sooner because I really believe I would not have such permanent damage to my sinuses and salivary glands if they had.
So glad you were diagnosed! Good luck with GOOD treatment. 👌😃

Always difficult to say "congratulations" when someone learns that they have a chronic illness. That said, glad you have a diagnosis so can probably stop feeling like docs think you are crazy, lazy, or hazy from brain fog.
Hope the Plaquenil is helping.
My dermatopathologist who diagnosis Bullous Pemphigoid on me in 2002 (my first autoimmune disease that no one paid any attention to) was the first one to shake my hand and congratulate me on getting the Sjogrens diagnosis. He knew that I had been searching for diagnosis for decades.
It is yukky to get a congrats but at the same time it feels like we have jumped a huge hurtle and always hope that some relief will come with diagnosis. Good luck and hope some of your issues improve. Irish
I too know what it's like to finally have a diagnosis after a 2 1/2 year fight with numerous doctors and two clinics! I still get startled when my rheumatologist mentions me and sjogren's in the same sentence!it's like everytime she says it I get reconfirmation!
So congratulations for finally putting a name on it and getting defenite treatment!
Thank you everyone for the kind words. I am glad that I am on the right track now and that I will be able to have a better idea what to expect. It has been incredibly rough getting people to believe me that I am actually sick and not just looking for attention. Now I can have the satisfaction of letting them know that they were wrong. :)
