I saw my immunologist last week and he has decided to do the steroid pulse therapy for 6 months instead of the 3 months. I get it once a month--1000mgm IV at an infusion center 30 minutes from my home. It goes pretty fast and I sleep through the infusion last time I had it. I am due for the third infusion next Monday. I will be getting these monthly and the last month will be October.
I go to my ENT the 26th or so of this month to see if these IV steroids are helping to save the hearing in my good ear. I have to say that I have been really wiped out since I had the second steroid IV but hard to tell if it is related to the infusion. It has been quite hot here and humid and that is hard on people like me with myasthenia gravis. Time will tell. Thanks. Irish
P.S. I asked doc how long a person can take IV steroids and he said 2 years. I don't know if that is cumulative or 2 years straight through.
Yes, Heat and high humidity ---> can leave us like a limp rag.
Turns us into shade seekers.
Sounds like you are making progress with treatments.
(p.s. how is that red room?) ::)
It is still red. Have the patching done on the sheetrock, but I just can't paint lately. Too weak and unsteady. Don't want to chance falling. Maybe be done with painting by Christmas. Thanks for asking. Irish
Thanks for the update, Irish. I hope these treatments work for you.
Good luck with this treatment irish. I hope you have great success.
Dearest Irish,
I cannot IMAGINE painting anything.
You are amazing.
Hugs, and Love, Elaine
