Title: Natural alternatives to Plaquenil
Post by: dry2010 on March 23, 2016, 09:30:49 AM
Hello,

I am wondering what natural alternatives any of you use instead of Plaquenil?
I prefer natural to prescriptions if possible so if you found a alternative would love to hear about it.

Thanks,

Check out some of Joe S's posts - he discusses some of the supplements he takes, as he had a bad reaction to Plaquenil.

However, in my opinion, assessing each treatment, natural, over the counter, or prescription, should be done on a case by case basis. Not all natural things are good, not all prescriptions are bad.

Plaquenil certainly has risks, though at the dose taken for Sjogren's they are relatively low. I've been on Plaquenil several times for a multiyear period, but never felt I got any benefit from it. Others here have had good results, and a few have had bad reactions.

I don't know of a natural product that is chemically similar to plaquenil.
