Title: Shoulder pain - not SjS
Post by: Scottietottie on January 09, 2016, 08:40:51 AM
Hi  :)

I finally got to see an orthopedic shoulder specialist about a shoulder that's been 'extra' hurting for two years now. Seen physiotherapists, had cortisone shots and been discharged at least three times so when my GP suggested I saw them again - I said I really wanted to see a doctor this time. The shoulder WAS frozen but the shots and the exercises did resolve that. It just never got to a 'painless' stage.

Well the doc I saw has dxd subacromial impingement syndrome. Waiting for an appointment for x-rays and an ultrasound scan now. He hopes to be able to resolve things with further exercise and another shot of some kind but is waiting for test results.

I just want a working arm!!

Take care - Scottie  :)

Scottietottie.. probably anywhere else someone reading "two years" would think why so long?
Umm.. we have other stuff going on. And hoping to feel well enough to take on the next challenge.

Last Rheum visit during physical Dr. noted the pain in my shoulder. Offered a cortisone shot. Immediately, unequivocally declined. Dr. looked surprised. Dr. did not know 1st and only time I had a shot by a GP.. I thought I was going to go through the floor and then for a year could not use that arm.  Got home from Rheum appt and could have kicked myself for allowing one bad experience from preventing me accepting the offer.

Every so often DH offers to teach me golf.. huh?
My idea is to walk along the course taking photos..lol.
So you are way better than me on the timeline.. kuddos to you. And I hope this issue is resolved for you.

Hum, always having issues with my shoulder (left) and neck, will keep this DX in mind.

Hope your treatment helps!

That sound uncomfortable, Scottie. I hope you get test results and effective treatment soon.
