Does anyone here have a constant low-grade fever throughout the day?
Mine fluctuates between 36.9 and 37.4 depending on the hour of day.
(Before the SJS began it was always around 36.5)
I usually have a slightly low temp.
HOWEVER, when I'm in a bad flare, I'll have just the opposite and have a slightly elevated temperature all the time. It's awful.
When I was first dx'd with Sjogrens Syndrome I had the elevated temp for perhaps a month.
Yes, I have a constantly low-grade fever at the least bit of inflammation, and a low temp the rest of the time.

I have consistant raised temp since my autoimmune mess started three years ago. I only get fevers when very ill. I can count the times of fever on one hand and still have spare fingers. Everytime I tell a nurse they look at my chart and say well it shows consistantly 98.8. I explain them that my temp before was always 96.4 and I know that because I had to monitor my temp after a back surgery which my doctor did not believe I had an infection in the inscission. Even when I told him I had pussing. He never had me come in and look at it. I called him everyday until he said if it goes up one more time to come in for immidiate surgery. One hour later I was on my way. He did find the infection and had to reopen and clean it up. Happened again after foot surgery. Why don't they listen?
Stupid doctors. No one believes me that I don't get fever with infections!
Anyhow, it makes sense that we have elevated temps since our bodies are struggeling.

Yes! I normally run a very low temperature, but for the last few weeks, I've had an intermittent fever every day. Does anyone know why?

From what I've gathered so far, temperature can be caused by an infection such as in the parotid glands
or simply by the AI system working overtime (attacking us...).
When I first started out being so ill and trying to find a diagnosis I ran a low grade temp every night and sometimes during the day. It would be like 99.2 or 99.6 and never any higher. I would run a low temp like 97.4 when it wasn't up. This was totally unusual for me but could not get this across to the doctors. A few years later it would run low much of the time and even when I was really sick it would not be over the 99.8 or so. If it went over a 100 I was really ill. Even though I was below 98 most of the time I still felt so ill. Had a hard time getting doctors to give me antibiotics when I would be really ill cause my fever wasn't high enough.
Have they checked your IgG levels or your t-cells, etc? Many times people with autoimmune disease also have immune disease. Immune disease affects the blood cells that protect us from infection. I would ask your doc about this and if he doesn't have enough knowledge to check this I would ask for a referral to an immunologist or a hematologist who can do the proper blood work and follow up on this. I was found to have low T-cells and low IgG levels which explained all my infections. Even if all the immune blood work is normal one can still have a low grade fever as Sjogrens is a collagen inflammatory disease. Inflammation usually has a low grade temp off and on. Good luck. Irish
