In chat last night we were talking about my horse's dna-results. They actually came a few minutes ago - clean!
:) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
The said illness has two versions, and this test was only for one of them. The other is way more rare and touches mostly thoroughbreads etc. To test that she would have to go through a nasty biopsy and at least for now I'm not doing that. Just have to see if the weird symptoms persist/get worse (hope not!!!)/disappear.
Thanks for your support last night, ladies!
YEAY!!!!!!
What was the test? (I'm a horse person too)
So glad to hear that, Eija, thanks for letting us know.
Sleepy, it was a dna test from hair samples, for PSSM1 (polysaccharide storage myopathy). It's where glycogen gets falsely storaged in the muscles and causes tying up and muscle damage. The version 2 is similar, but there's no dna-test for it, it must be tested via biopsy and that's too complicated and uncertain at the moment.
As if the horsie not being well wouldn't be enough, now I'm left alone with her and have to consider what to do with her since taking care of her alone isn't what I'm capable these days :'( :'( :'(
Managing to get out of the bed every day is hard enough without stuff like this. But then again, if I end up with no horse then I can just stay there because there's nowhere to go anymore :P
So tired of this s**t called life :(
That is very good to hear, eija! I hope that it disappears as time moves forward.
So good to hear that Eija. Hope to "see" you this Thursday night! sjoggiemama J.
Sorry for the late reply eija. So glad to hear your horse is doing better. How is she doing now? Happy New Year!
