Title: Feeling weepy all the time
Post by: A66eyroad on March 30, 2015, 12:42:47 PM
What is up with this? Should I call it a symptom?

EVERYTHING makes me cry! It's not a sadness that I feel, but a weepiness that comes over me with the least little provocation. A poignant moment in a show or commercial on TV, a song, something someone says, something I read. It could be anything! All of a sudden I find myself sobbing. The moment doesn't even have to be all that poignant.

This isn't depression or even sadness. Just weepiness!

I've always been a big old crybaby, but not like this!

A66eyroad-
I know you say you are not depressed and not sad however it might possibly be a chemical or hormonal imbalance of some sort. Forgive me but are you possibly going through menopause? My apologies but possibly hormones being off can truly upset everything.
I am not a doctor so I am just voicing my personal experience and opinion. I went through an emotional time which I couldn't explain really and it ended up being my hormonal imbalance. Also a few medications made me either weep or very agitated.
I sometimes am deeply touched by words or pictures and feel the urge to cry about it but I cannot squeeze a tear out. The Hallmark commercials on television do that to me.

Sending a hug your way.

It could be from one of your medications or possibly a combination of meds that you are on. These type of emotions can happen from CNS issues. I will get CNS from a good many of my meds. When I take Plaquenil with antibiotics I generally get "crazy" as I tell my doctor. She knows the situation and knows I quit taking my Plaquenil during antibiotic therapy.

Sometimes it takes a while to figure out what triggers our emotions and reactions. Hang in there and you will figure it out. Irish

Are you on steroids? That does it to me when I take them with monthly infusions.
The other thing that triggers this for me is fatigue . When I am really tired I get a sad, weepy feeling but I am not sad about anything.

Thanks, everybody! Lots of good ideas here, I appreciate the feedback.

I wouldn't be a bit surprised if it turns out to be the new hormones I started back in July. I think I'll make an appointment with my GYN.

I love this board!   :-*

I continue to be stunned reading this thread.  I haven't cried tears in at least 12 years.  Thinking back I believe it may go back closer to 20.  How do you all still have tears with SjS??
