Title: Angiodema - swelling of the lips and throat
Post by: 8harrisnc on March 23, 2015, 11:10:03 AM
Does anyone else have Angiodema - swelling of the lips and throat caused by Sjogren's?  I have it bad and was on predisone for 10 months with no symptoms. I had to get off the prednisone because of it's side effects and now my angiodema is back.  Any help I can get will be appreciated.  Frustrated, Drygirl

While working as a nurse I took care of a few people with angioedema. It can be found in other people besides those with Sjogrens. I have seen people do well on Zyrtec which can be bought over the counter.

This is a sort of strange little disease that strikes people all of a sudden and can be very traumatic. Have you seen an immunologist??? This doc also deals with allergic reactions and can often help with the angioedema. The angioedema is caused by a histamine release that is not related to an allergic reaction if I remember correctly. Good luck with this. irish
