Title: Valentine's Day is he** for florist with fibro
Post by: deeindiana on February 13, 2015, 08:58:13 PM
Just need to vent a little where my family and coworkers wont hear. No worries if no one comments. I just need to say the words.

I work every other day as a floral designer in a busy shop. I LOVE my job and co-workers. And thank heavens that after standing 9 hours on concrete, I always have the next day off so my aching body can recuperate.  But the week of Valentine's Day, I work every day, 9-12 hour shifts. Today is Friday the 13th, so only one more day to go.

But, egads... I hurt so bad tonight that I can barely move. My body feels like a solid ball of inflammation. And, for some reason, when my body gets overwhelmed with pain like this, panic attacks chomp around the edges. Sleep? Impossible. I finally just broke down and took a low dose of Xanax. Maybe it will help me get some rest so I can get through one more day.

I love my job and the people I work with. How can you not love creating beautiful things with flowers that brighten peoples' day? But man... the week of Valentines Day is truly horrible for someone with SjS and fibro.

Bless your heart for making all those beautiful arrangements so others experience joy.

Tomorrow night have a nice bath and go to bed early and don't feel one bit guilty. You did more than your share. You are one tough cookie to make it through this week. Thanks to all the florists. Irish

Dee,  I don't know how you do it.  You are one amazing gal!

You do have an awesome job though.  Bringing such beauty into so many lives. I always said that if I had the money I would always have fresh flowers in the house.

I will think of you anytime I get a flower arrangement...well, maybe that's not too often, though.   ;)
