Here we are - at the last month of 2014. I don't know about you, but this past year has just flown by to me!

Mine was yesterday, 3rd, but my Dad died and the funeral was on the 2nd, so I didn't feel up to much. Too sad at the moment, but hoping to have a delayed 55th celebration in a couple of weeks.

Today is my birthday. I am grateful for so many things including having wonderful doctors who are doing their best to find a treatment plan that will prove helpful.
I am grateful as well for everyone on this list, you've been an exceptional support group!

my birthday was the 5th. I turned 57 but when I was exercising on my wii fit game,this weekend, she told me my wii age was 34. Now that made me one happy camper~ ;D
Ailsa I lost my dad 6 years ago. Still hard without him during the holidays. Sorry for your loss~

I have several family members with birthdays in December and they DON'T like having "combination" gifts which some times happens. One year, I had a surprise party for my sister in October so she could have a special day all to herself without it being so close to Christmas.

Thanks Becky!! Just going out for a nice dinner. I celebrated with family over the weekend. It's a big birthday, so my daughter also took me to Vegas to celebrate and my son is flying me out to Cali as soon as I'm able.
I'm lucky that my day isn't quite that close to Christmas so I do okay with presents, although friends sometimes ask if we can celebrate in January! I'm okay with that because I'm busy too. How nice of you to have surprise party for your sister. Bet she loved it!

My birthday is December 24th.............Christmas Eve.
My great grandmothers was the 25h....Christmas Day.
People have told me what a great day to have a birthday.
It seems family never forgets it...easy to remember but it does some how
get lost in the shuffle.....diminished in some way d/t the importance of the 25th.

I am 55 today. No cake this year, no celebration. It's just another day. Mom is in terrible pain with her arm ever since she fell and broke her humerus and after they reset it it never healed, and so now she will be going in for surgery Wednesday the 17th of December. She has always been the one to make me a German Chocolate Cake every December without fail and she feels guilty that she can't make me one. I told her not to worry about it. She is more important to me than cake. I just want her to feel better and get that shoulder replacement done. I pray for her quick recovery.
I lost my mother-in-law last Monday the 8th of December. She passed unexpectedly in the night as she was sleeping. It was a shock to everyone. My sister-in-law says she is still reeling from it. There's always a chance I could lose my own mom with this surgery, as there are risks involved according to her age and diabetes and all. So, today I am feeling quite edgy, not much of a birthday, but that is the way it's been for years now, it seems. It's just another day.
I just have to thank God for giving me another day, and that for now, both my parents are still living. They are the most wonderful parents in the world and have been very supportive to me during my sickness. Even though I get worn out quickly and go through spells of weakness and great fatigue and pain, I am still driven to do everything I can possibly do for them, when I do have the strength.

Even though you won't be "celebrating" your birthday today - I wish you a Happy Birthday and Birthday Blessings. I'm sure your parents were happy to have a baby girl born back in 1959. :D
I'm sorry your mom is in such pain and hope the surgery this week will be a success and she'll have a quick recovery.
I'm also sorry for the sudden loss of your MIL. My own father died suddenly last year and I know how it can feel like your whole world has been turned upside down. My condolences to you and your family.

We celebrate our 39 anniversary on Saturday, and are going on a weekend cruise to Dublin. Our youngest son will also be 32 on that day.

Thanks Bucky. It was really good. We had to stay on the ship most of the time as my hip was playing up and Mr B is recovering from a flu virus, but we still had a nice time.
We are now in the midst of having our kitchen refit - hopefully will have an oven and sink by the time I return from work tonight.

Well, today is my birthday. I am having a massage then going out for a lovely rib dinner.
We celebrated as a family on the weekend, so things are low key today. Pass the cake!

I have been eating cake for several days now. ::). My favourite? Humm. I think I will stick with the classic - chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. And a big scoop of vanilla ice cream!
Now I want cake!! LOL (I like chocolate, but I prefer white cake / white frosting with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. ;D )
In fact, I have a little Pepperidge Farm white cake in the freezer we are going to get out for Christmas day. Yum!
