I req my doc do some labs. I went to Quest last week and this morning got the results..
Im usually ANA titer..1:640, speckled, SSA-SSB 8.0...always the same.
My labs show that Im homogenous pattern and only 1:80??? very strange. SSA-SSB..the same
I think the lab messed up. I haven't talked to my doctor yet, its not a big thing either. I see her in a few weeks.
I have been diagnosed with SS/lupus for years. Not sure what this might mean? uhmmmm
Anyone have their pattern change?
Also, cant figure out why my B6 is high when I don't take any..except for vitamin?? It was high years ago and I know that
high b6 can cause neuropathy? cheez..always something to figure out.
thanks..

Sometimes I think they purposely try to confuse us....
This happened to me a few months back with the same two patterns. Only, mine is normally 1:160 homogenous, and has been for 4 years since my diagnosis. But a few months back, it showed up 1:320 speckled, which sent me into a panic thinking something new was popping up.
My rheumy, however, was not the least bit concerned about it and said it was probably due to a new or different lab tech doing the tests. She said those two patterns can be very hard to discern from each other.
Interestingly enough, I had gotten th speckled labwork done at a different quest than the one I normally go to.
Next time she ordered my ANA after that, I went back to my usual quest and the results came back 1:160 homogenous again.
My rheumy will laugh in a sense...they have no idea what is going on with us...would be nice at least if we had more accurate testing that shows exactly what autoimmune disease we might have? The ANA can show positive even in healthy people, so go figure?
Its sad..
I have been going to the same lab at same times etc and they are always the same basically. A few times, we know they made errors
on certain tests too, and as I understand it, our ANA values can change at any moment. My doc will prob have them done again in a few weeks, or not. She doesn't care so much about the labs.
Seems the homogenous pattern is indicative to lupus? uhmmmm.
thanks for all the info
