Have been having some mild pain since march that got worse this month. Discussed with primary early summer but didn't think much was wrong. Saw rheumy doc last week and he didn't think much about it either. Blood work is stable with the white blood count being 2.6. Now I tested positive for a new test that may indicate RA but I have nothing yet.
Wonder how to fix my elbow? It is pain but not all the time. Have difficulty sleeping with my arms snuggled up close to my body without pain. Wearing an arm wrap that seems to mask the pain. Pain is not bad but I will start back to school in 3 weeks and this is my dominate arm. Any suggestions?

I have elbow pain controlled with resting night splint that holds my elbow in slightly bent position. An occupational therapist can fabricate one for you. In addition I use Voltaren Gel when the inflammation is flaring.
The elbow pain is one of my main symptom with RA along with my fingers and various joints that lock up on me. When I got on Humira the pain was gone.
Interesting, I was telling my husband the other night my elbow started hurting. I can't move it certain ways or fold my arm into my upper arm without pain. And now my fingers are burning!
Thanks for the replies. I guess I will go back to my primary again and see if they can tell me why it is hurting. It is not getting any better and I have had fatigue, hand and foot pain this month in addition to elbow pain. Guess I am in a flare and it won't go away. :(
Is it swelling at all? I have elbow bursitis where it turns red, fluid, swelling, pain..fun..
Probably just some arthritis, not sure if you overused it a bit?

No swelling although sore to the touch. I can't vacuum or exercise my arm. Not really sure what I did. Today is the first day that it did not wrap it. I hope with more babying it that it will heal.

Epicondylitis?? (Tennis elbow) That's what gives me trouble. Pain on the outside of your elbow, and possibly slightly below. Mine gets better then flares up quite often. Made worse with things like lifting and vacuuminng. Sometimes I have swelling, but not always. My Dr recommends ultra ben gay as first treatment before Nsaids.
I too early on experienced elbow pain......
and still do.....it is awful if I lightly bump it
they are tender right now as I type this.

About a year ago I had a sudden excruciating pain in my elbow when I put pressure on it. It lasted a couple of months. I don't think I injured it. A few weeks after it started I got shingles on the other side of my body. I never knew if there was a connection. Fortunately, it went away. My body is too mysterious for me to understand since all this started.
I too have severe elbow pain I get steroid injections about every six months....pain completely gone.
