Here I am in Paris. I've actually been doing some walking. This is a foot bridge over the Seine. Couples buy a lock, have it engraved with their names (or write them on with markers), lock them to the fence, and throw the key into the Seine. It is a tradition now.
The fences are taken down when they are full and too heavy, and a new fence is put up.
Paris is always Paris. Lovely!
Hugs, Elaine

We're still in Paris. Yesterday we went to the country to have lunch with friends: the 84 year old father, who studied in Boston at age 18, and worked in New York, so his English is great, and his life experience is marvelous. The daughter (friend of our son and his family) who is around 50, her boyfriend who lived in French Guyana for six years and works for Airbus in Toulouse, her son who just turned 18 and loves skateboarding, and our family of course.
Then we went to Giverny to see the Claude Monet house and gardens.(http://www.france-history.com/files/2012/02/Giverny-Private-Guided-Tour-Monet-and-Impressionism-history-Water-Lilies-pond-by-Monet-France-History-Private-Guided-Tours.jpg)
It was a French holiday (Ascension) so there were lots of French tourists at Giverny, rather unusual. This time of year all of the flowers are in full bloom and the site is lovely.
As always every part of the experience was interesting to me. The lunch was a French dream...champagne with appetizers, rabbit in cream sauce with Dauphinoise potatoes, bread and butter, green salad, LOTS of red wine, an amazing selection of cheeses, then a chocolate torte and lots of expresso. followed by small glasses of Calvados (apple brandy) infused with raspberries in one jar, and whole apricots in the other. The hostess had prepared these, and gave us our own jar of Calvados with raspberries from her garden to take with us.
Today I'm still recovering!
Hugs, Elaine
How nice! You are looking great Elaine. Have fun!
Anna
Your whole experience sounds delicious - sights, sounds, food, people...
- not good about the coughing/asthma incident, but is good that you are recovering; stay on that
road...
It's hard to believe that May took it's final bow and June is in its first act.
Here's to June being a good month for all of us (as I raise my glass of water - ha!)
My green-eyed Monster is joining Andreas! :)
