Title: What is the weather up to anyway???
Post by: irish on May 19, 2014, 09:06:55 PM
It is May in MN and the grass just turned green in the last 2 weeks. It has rained off and on much of the month and the farmers are hardly in the fields. It is a repeat of last year only I think it might be colder this spring.

The news tonight said that this weekend we will have 70-85 degree weather. The last time it was 80 degrees was September 30th of last year. This has been one long winter and spring never did show up. We have had 4 days that barely hit 70 degrees and the wind was blowing and it was quite chilly. You know what is coming don't you. It will go from 50 to 990 degrees and the humidity will be terrible and we will have to turn on the air conditioners. For people with autoimmune disease this is really a bummer as we can't adjust to this sudden change in temp as well as others. Sooo, we can't work outside as much as we want to. I don't see any global warming around here lately. Irish

With this AI can we ever work outside as much as we want to?

My home is mostly dark all the time. I am thinking I should install cameras around the house just to watch the seasonal changes on my yard. I mowed for the first time last weekend. It took two days to mow my postage stamp yard.

It was so cold and wet yesterday I was in winter clothes for PT.

I know what you mean.  Last week we had snow.  And extremely cold winds.  Walking the dogs I was wearing my winter jacket, gloves and a scarf.

I have many perennials that haven't even poked through the soil yet it's been so cold.

Sounds like I need to get the air conditioner ready for the impending heat wave though.

Stay warm/cool everyone!

Last week was in the 80-90's all week, then a cold front moved in and we dropped to 60's during the day and 40's during the night for three days.  Now we are back up to 90's!!

I feel your weather pain Irish.

Having pretty much the same weather here in NJ as you are Irish...and I'm sure we'll get the same heat wave as well!

I'm in West Yorkshire in the UK, and we have had some glorious days this past week, with temperatures edging up to the 70's. However, it seems we might be 20 degrees cooler by the weekend.

Irish - living South and East of you, we've had the roller coaster weather here too. When it drops 30 degrees overnight, it's crazy! A few days ago there was a frost warning overnight!  Today, it's a balmy 85 degrees - I could send it up your way, if you want.   ;)

There is a young man that works at the bank where our company does business.  He just graduated from high school this past weekend.  He has been saying he is going to MN to school in the fall, I asked him . . . "are you SURE you want to do that?"  I hope you like their state bird, the mosquito, and lots of snow in the winter!

I don't know - hearing all the weather reports on the news from all over the world - everywhere seems to be having record breaking weather events.

I hope your weather improves for you, Irish - so you can get outside and enjoy it some.
