It's coming heard the birds outside my bedroom window this morning😄 I live in the suburbs of Chiicago and after this winter I take any sign and run with it lol.
Dry2010
Yes.. looking forward to Spring.
The Day Lillys are peaking up through the soil.
The Rhododendron should be spectacular this year. I have been trimming it back for 3 years now.
We had a lot of tree damage in the area.
Saw a professional tree service and asked him to come over and give an estimate on removing a tree in the front.
He explained it was an Ash..and they are dying off .. he seemed sad that I wanted to have it removed as they are dying and this one so far is still healthy.
I was impressed that he did not go for the job..instead was concerned about the Ash.
So it stays.
I took two of his cards, one for me and a neighbor. I will definitely use his service if needed.
Here on Vancouver Island ..
Horses are shedding their winter coats (no more chapstick while grooming!) and the alpacas no longer want hay--they're loving the spring nibblies. The Christmas Cheer rhodo is in full bloom--a rather shocking sugar pink, but I'll take what I can get this time of year. The crocuses are finishing and the daffodils all a-bloom.
Yeah!
Green with envy. We still have a foot of $n@w!
We have been having lovely weather here since the first day of spring....then bam! Today, drops to 40 and starts spitting snow! WHAT?????????
the sun came out for about 15 minutes late afternoon. I think spring is TRYING really hard to hang around this week. Snow and rain playing dodge a drop or flake earlier today but nothing significant.
Vancouver Island - already crocuses come and gone? I am soooo jealous.
Really? Where? Will it actually stay for more than a day or two?
My yellow crocus are up! Daffodils, tulips. something else. The iris I moved are greening up and growing. Soon I'll be able to plant my blackberries and raspberries and hydrangea. The apricot tree has blossoms and it looks like they will actually not get frozen off this year, for once!
So far, so good. But the snow shovel is still on the porch!

Walked to the edge of the backyard and the wild 'snow drops' are in bloom...there were so many Cardinals in the backyard as well yesterday, three deers were foraging.

The cardinals started showing up here a couple of weeks ago when we had a mini-spring teaser, then they were gone until the next mini-spring teaser. Birds went into hiding recent days again.
It's supposed to be warming up again
The full of buds Rhododendron are less full now.
Deer (longed legged rascals) have been feasting on them and the azaleas.
Better than my neighbor.. hers do not even have leaves left.. :o
Hers are in the backyard.
The fruit trees are blooming, and spring is definitely here in NC, near the coast.
It's just 'up and down' and rainy and cold some days, but it's supposed to be 74 and partly cloudy on Tuesday.
It is just so variable.
As long as there's no snow, I'm happy.
Hugs, Elaine
Actually, I'm pretty much OK with the weather most of the time. I mean what will I do when I don't like it? change it?
HA!
Spring is almost here in New Jersey. We did have more snow Tuesday this week, but then the farmers down the road were out planting their crops yesterday :)
Going to be in the 70's here this week! And my pair of "Love Birds" returned over the weekend. Definitely means spring is here for us!
Came home from work this morning to find my japonica bloomed. They look like bunches of Lily of the Valley flowers except on shrubs :)
You can tell Spring is coming to Arkansas. Storms and possible tornadoes are the forecast for today. A little hail mixed in.
I guess I have to be thankful there is no more snow and ice here.
Happy Spring!!!
Jennifer
Spring in NJ: kids playing outside, birds chirping, saw our groundhog, lilies are popping up all around. Before we had our children we would have taken a long, motorcycle ride on a day like today :D
Spring is here!!!!!
Definitely spring here to stay now. Bees and wasps are out and about.
Yes definitely Spring, came home from work and my petite Rhododendron was bloomed. :)
I spoke too soon. We're supposed to drop below freezing tonight.
It was 82 here Sunday, now it's sleeting! Seriously? Mother Nature needs to get back on her meds!

Either that or Mother Nature is on too many meds!!
Geesh - half way through April and still winter won't go into hibernation and stay in hibernation for a few months.
We still have a foot on the ground, and horrible muck in the exposed areas. :( We got about three inches on the weekend. I wish it would melt and dry up already, but because we have so much snow the ground is water logged and must melt slowly so as not to flood out our entire area.
I cannot.wait.to.garden!!!
We've had the days of wonderful 70's, and today it was snowing, but in a few hours melted. We have a freeze warning tonight. Our Daylilies are peeking through.

Some of the ferns we picked up from someone who was thinning theirs out have sprouted..yeah.
By the time we drove a distance to pick them up and then DH had to get out a pick ax, to do 3 beds, total planted was 40.
Daffodils are still standing tall, later ones are now in bloom as well...
Dianthus survived the winter and looks lush.
Dwarf Dogwood young blooms are deep red and will turn pink. Below the dogwood the grape hyacinth, cobalt blue, are in bloom. Behind the dogwood are forsythia .. the colors, deep pink against the yellow (depending on where you stand) is a wonder.
In the front the big ornamental cherry tree is full... I even love when the blossoms fall and it looks like pink snow.
Even a miniature rhodo bloomed..that is still in the pot from last year. And a choke berry,, that I bought at the end of the year clearance for the leaf color... little pink flower all along the branches... still in the pot.. wow.. what a pleasant surprise.
I feel jealous of those of you who actually have Spring.
We are expecting snow for the next few days and very cold temperatures. I am still hopeful I will see signs of life in the yard soon!
In the southern hemisphere we're heading in the opposite direction.
Autumn certainly hit Sydney yesterday. We'd been blessed with sunny days, temperatures in the mid 20's Celsius. All changed yesterday, grey skies, windy and very cold (for us) top temp around 13C . Watching my son's soccer game yesterday afternoon was a very chilly experience.
I hope you Northerners all enjoy the warmer weather.
Spring has sprung for the moment here in Indiana~ but my word the winds are so bad. I have had only a few days that I could work out in the yard that I didn't get blown away. I have found that a pair of wrap around safety goggles work for the most part. I am sure I look a site with my heavy coat, gloves and goggles on the first of MAY!!
Spring has sprung here in West Yorkshire - in fact most of the spring flowers are over, but we are having lots of wind and rain. However, the temperature is around the late 50's, so that's nice.
