I had to put my cat, Tessa, to sleep today. She developed Horner's and was 14 yrs old.
It is sooo hard as you get so attached to your pets. They are members of your family and sometimes even better than your own family.
Well I actually cried and got tears out of my eyes so I guess Sjogrens hasn't taken all the tears yet. :'(
Hi
I'm so sorry for your loss. Losing a pet is indeed like losing a member of the family. It's hard.
Take care - Scottie
Hi Pisces,
Blessings to you and to Tessa. You had each other for marvelous years.......and you were such a kind caring person for her.
The pain is equal to the love, isn't it? How difficult that is...to love and share so much, and then to care for her to the end.
Thank you for opening your heart to us......we know each other through this sharing, difficult as it is.
Even my dry eyes have filled with tears thinking of Tessa.
Hugs, Elaine
I'm sorry about your dear, precious, Tessa. I know how much your cats mean to you.
I hope when the pain subsides some, that you will remember with fondness all the joy you shared with Tessa. She knew how much you loved her.
Hugs,
Bucky
I am so sad for you, I love my babies and some days I think I only go on for them. Pets can be the best things in our lives, especially when man fails us or turns their back on us in time of need. Our pets are ever loyal ever loving.
I'm so very sorry. It leaves such a big hole in your heart. Doing the best thing for the animals we love is the hardest thing for us.
I hope you can soon remember her with smiles instead of tears.
Hugs, Sharon
Pisces - so very sorry for your loss. Pets are members of our families and create lifelong memories. Hoping you can find some comfort in the memories and the fact that you gave your cat a loving home for 14 years. What a lucky cat to have had a loving home for so very long.
Sending positive thoughts and hugs your way.
Pisces,
I am sorry you had to let your furbaby go. It is very hard to say goodbye to our furry family members.
Tessa had a wonderful, loving Mom who gave her such a good life and you have 14 yrs. of
precious memories. I believe our pets give us far more than we are able to give them. I hope soon
your sadness lessens and you can smile at the memories.
Sassygal
How are you doing? We are still thinking of you.
Hugs, Sharon
I am doing better but still look for her to be around the house. She didn't go around the house much on her last 2 months and stayed mostly on one room. I got used to not having her bawl me out because breakfast was late. I was so close to her because I had to work so hard for her to trust me as I got her as a scared almost 4 yr old cat. I was wonderful watching her come around and even turn into part diva! I bragged to everyone when she first nipped me when I wasn't paying attention to her - I couldn't have been happier if I had a kid that got straight As. ! 8)
I has been many many years since I had to put a pet to sleep. Now standard is they cremate them. I get Tessa's ashes back sometime this week and a nice wooden box. I don't remember the box size but I am getting an engraved plate for the box with her name on it.
Thank you all for your caring thoughts. Yes pets are a big part of the family if you are the right kind of person. They have unconditional love to give.
The greatest gift we can receive in this life is to love and be loved. Your kitty was lucky to have found you. I am so sorry for your loss.
hello Pisces.
I have been where you are now.
The hole in your heart will close but never completely.
I still think of my little guy and he passed away in 2007 (age 16).
I said no more pets but a year later I "fell in love" again and so a new chapter begins.
May your sadness lift away and her memory make you smile.

I read Rainbow Bridge and it did make me feel somewhat better.
So sorry. Our fur babies are very special to us.
