Title: magesium question
Post by: Winnie on February 23, 2014, 02:37:03 PM
Today I bought magnesium gel caps for my constipation but it also says that it helps with anxiety.  I am already on zoloft to help me cope with the "new me".  I take all of my meds in the morning and calcium at noon.  Can magnesium affect my meds if I take it after supper?

You should be fine taking the magnesium in the evening when you don't take any other meds. It doesn't interact with any of my meds. If it's part of an antacid, though, it can be a problem for some meds.

My rheumy prescribed me 1500 mg of magnesium/day for my muscle twitching and jerking along with restless legs. It has worked wonders. It didn't seem to help my constipation though even though I know it normally does.

I hope it works well for you.

Hum, so I guess the dosage that says 2 gel caps (250 mg) will not be enough.   :(

Winnie,  I have gastroparesis so constipation is a constant problem until I discovered Solgar Magnesium citrate.  I take 1000 mg and it has been a big help to me.
