Brain function 'boosted for days after reading a novel'

OMY Lighthouse,
I read two or three novels at a time.
I'm reading Life After Life, and The Beautiful and the Damned (I know the forum is going to censor this title!) by F Scott Fitzgerald, right now.
Now I have lots and lots of justification for my time spent reading.
That, and of course, I can't walk with the severe PN, so I have to do something while I'm sitting around all day.
No wonder I'm in three book clubs!
Hugs, Elaine

We must subscribe to some of the same feeds. Yes, absolutely true about reading novels. I have that as part of my regular brainercise routine!! My favorite authors don't publish fast enough to keep up with my reading though.
Huh...well, all I can say is I should be WAY smarter than I am!!!! :o
Interesting article, and for me I believe it has merit. I love to read and I find a good book improves my mood and does distract me from pain and may help with some fatigue. On the other hand, when in a flare, I cannot read three words in a row and comprehend them!
Sometimes I let the guilt factor get in my way of reading. I feel I should be doing something constructive (cleaning, cooking, organizing something, etc) than taking time to read for selfish pleasure.
Well, now with this article I can look at it differently as reading helping me and my body to feel better so I can do things on my "to do list" !
I have always dreamed of a room in my house dedicated as a library.
