Post by: quietdynamics on December 15, 2013, 11:37:29 AM
Irish posted about hearing Holiday music on the radio.
Driving I had to scan to find it...Found some Holiday music on The World Cafe.

When I came home I did a search for "The Little Drummer Boy"
and found this version...sharing it with you.

This has always been my all time favorite song.  Usually, Kathy Mattea does my favorite version, but I have really enjoyed the deep voice of Scotty McCreery on it.

For the classical, baroque music lovers. An extraordinary piece to sing actually.

Had to add one more favorite, those some may say is not a "holiday" song, depends on one's perspective ;)

Beautiful version of The Lord's Prayer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxX-F6BcdS8

And just for fun, listen to lyrics carefully ;) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1VC5-bZjwTU

Our Choral Society (which I was a part of) used to perform Handel's Messiah eery Christmas. It is one of my favorites too.

Other favorites are:

1.   Carol of the Bells:

Here are a couple old ones probably no on ever heard of. My folks used to play these around Christmas. I think they are from the 30s or 40s.

I Just Go Nuts at Christmas
Deck of Cards

And of course there is:   I'm Getting Nuttin for Christmas.
